The UFEA Torchbearer Fund is an endowed fund invested & managed by the Illinois Prairie Community Foundation. Contributions to the Fund are tax-deductible.

Illinois Prairie Community Foundation supports philanthropy in our community. You may contribute to the UFEA Torchbearer Fund by making a gift to the IPCF and directing it to the Torchbearer Fund.

  • If you prefer to donate by check, make the check payable to: Illinois Prairie Community Foundation and send to 915 E Washington St., Suite 2, Bloomington, IL 61701. Please include the UFEA Torchbearer Fund on the memo line.

Scholarships

The Unit Five Education Association annually awards multiple $1,000 scholarships to current Unit 5 high school seniors.  Contributions to the Torchbearer Fund help make those scholarships possible.

UFEA currently awards four $1,000 scholarships each year.

As the Torchbearer Fund grows, it will allow us to provide additional or higher-value scholarships to Unit 5 high school seniors.

Phyllis Rosenbaum NCHS Scholarship

Awarded to a high school senior, graduating from NCHS and choosing a career in the field of education.

Phyllis Rosenbaum NCWHS Scholarship

Awarded to a high school senior, graduating from NCWHS and choosing a career in the field of education.

UFEA Scholarship

Awarded to the child of a UFEA member who is a high school senior and plans to continue their education after high school at a 2 or 4 year college, in the military or at trade school.

Impact Scholarship

Awarded to a high school senior, from either Unit 5 high school, who plans to continue their education after high school at a 2 or 4 year college, in the military or at trade school.

Educator Grants

As the Torchbearer Fund grows, a future goal is to provide grants to Unit 5 educators for special projects and efforts focused on enlightenment, leadership and service. Your tax-deductible contribution to the Torchbearer Fund will help make these grants possible.
