The Unit Five Education Association annually awards three scholarships to individuals pursuing a career in education.  UFEA annually awards 2 separate $1000 scholarships to Unit 5 students, and a $1000 scholarship to a high school senior or college student whose parent is a UFEA member.  This year, UFEA also began giving a $1000 scholarship to a student in need of financial assistance who plans to continue their education at a 4-year college, 2-year college, trade school, or in the military.

Phyllis Rosenbaum Scholarships

The Phyllis Rosenbaum Scholarship is awarded to two high school seniors — one at Normal Community and one at Normal West — who will pursue a career in education. This year’s Phyllis Rosenbaum Scholarship winners were Juliana Johnson from NCHS and Lillian Ridinger from NCWHS.

The UFEA Scholarship is awarded to the child of a UFEA member who is a high school senior or college student. The 2020 UFEA Scholarhip winner is Addie Smith, daughter of UFEA members Hillary and Jason Ruyle. Addie just completed her freshman year at Belmont University.
