This week, WGLT is running a four-part special series about the teacher shortage facing Illinois schools.
- Part 1, entitled “Skipping School: Why Teachers Quit, And How To Stop It”, features UFEA President Lindsey Dickinson and IEA UniServ Director Ben Matthews, as well as former UFEA member Derek Sieg.
- Part 2, entitled “Teachers Making Ends Meet”, adds new UFEA member Brandan Oates’ voice to the story.
- Part 3, entitled “How The Role Of A Teacher Has Changed”, includes input and insight from UFEA building rep (NCHS) and New Member Chair Claire Rybarczyk and UFEA Vice President Julie Hagler.
- Part 4, entitled “Changing Children Or Changing Culture?”, adds the voice of former UFEA President and current building rep (West) Karl Goeke to the story.
