Evaluation

Upcoming Changes to Your Evaluation

Starting in 2012-2013, Unit 5 will have 2 Evaluation instruments being used at the same time. The “new” plan, which has been developed in response to changes in Illinois law, will be phased in over the next three years and the “old” plan that has been in place for quite some time will be phased out over the next three years. Resources related to both the “new” and “old” plans are available here as a resource to you. One change, mandated by law, that will be part of both the old and new plans is a four-category rating system. Rather than the former “Excellent, Satisfactory, Unsatisfactory” ratings that were required by law, the law now mandates that the evaluation process include 4 categories: Excellent, Proficient, Needs Improvement, Unsatisfactory”. New versions of the Rubrics for the current (“old”) system have been added below as well.

The “New” Evaluation Plan

For all non-tenured teachers and qualified tenured volunteers starting in 2012-2013

The “Old” Evaluation Plan

For all tenured teachers who do not qualify and volunteer for the new system in 2012-2013
